Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it. –Proverbs 22:
From the very outset of our existence, our church has always been highly concerned with giving our children a Christian education. To that end, a parochial school has existed alongside the congregation ever since its official founding. For the first twenty-five years, it was the responsibility of the pastor to teach in the parochial school; however, from 1871 on, the church always provided a teacher for the school. In 1971, Emmanuel began a partnership with St. John Lutheran Church (Flatrock), and we have shared a school together since that time.
